Day 1: Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Your journey begins early in the morning with a road transfer from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival at the crater rim, take in spectacular views across this immense natural landscape before descending into the crater for your game drive.

Spend the morning and afternoon exploring the Ngorongoro Crater floor with your professional guide. The crater supports an extraordinary variety of wildlife, with opportunities to encounter lions, spotted hyenas, elephants, buffaloes and the rare black rhino. The surrounding forests, grasslands, salt lake and waterways create one of Tanzania’s most beautiful settings for wildlife viewing.

Around lunchtime, stop at a scenic picnic area inside the crater to enjoy your packed lunch surrounded by nature. Continue your game drive during the afternoon before ascending the crater walls and beginning the drive back to Arusha in the evening.
