Experience two of northern Tanzania’s outstanding wildlife destinations in just two days. This compact safari takes you from the baobab-dotted landscapes and elephant country of Tarangire National Park to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife areas.

Spend your first day exploring Tarangire on a guided game drive before overnighting near Lake Manyara. The following morning, travel to Ngorongoro Crater and descend to the crater floor in search of lions, black rhinos, spotted hyenas, elephants and other wildlife. After a picnic lunch surrounded by the crater’s magnificent scenery, return to Arusha in the afternoon.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park for your first safari experience. Famous for its enormous baobab trees and large elephant populations, Tarangire offers beautiful scenery and rewarding wildlife viewing.

Spend the morning and afternoon exploring the park with your guide, searching for elephants, lions, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, hippos and other wildlife. Around lunchtime, stop for a picnic surrounded by the natural beauty of the park.

After your afternoon game drive, leave Tarangire and travel to Nsya Lodge, located near Lake Manyara National Park, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After an early breakfast, depart from Nsya Lodge and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From the crater rim, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a guided game drive across its wildlife-rich floor.

Explore the crater in search of lions, spotted hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and the rare black rhino. Around lunchtime, enjoy a picnic inside the crater before continuing your wildlife viewing.

In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and begin your journey back to Arusha, bringing your short but wildlife-packed Tanzania safari to an end.
