Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your safari adventure begins in Arusha city! After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and enjoy a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its large elephant herds and majestic baobab trees, Tarangire is a haven of seasonal swamps, golden savannahs, and the wildlife-rich Tarangire River.
During your game drive in a 4×4 vehicle with a pop-up roof, you’ll have the chance to spot a wide range of animals including giraffes, zebras, elephants, lions, leopards, elands, warthogs, and a variety of bird species. After a full day of thrilling wildlife encounters, head to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 2: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, drive to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater—one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Africa. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to over 120 species of animals, including the Big Five.
Descend into the crater floor and explore its diverse ecosystem, where you might spot the endangered black rhino, hippos, and an array of predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals. The crater also hosts large populations of wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, and Cape buffalo, offering unmatched photographic opportunities.
Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before beginning your drive back to Arusha. Optional add-ons include an overnight stay in Arusha or a transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight to Zanzibar.
